On July 9 2025 the second court of appeals agreed with the county’s position and quashed the circuit courts order, thereby upholding the county commissioner‘s decision to deny the rezoning of the Pebble Creek Golf Course land.
Fears of affordable housing being placed here should be eased by County Attorney Adam Gormley‘s statement at a previous meeting. “ the live local act applies to land that is zoned for commercial or industrial use or mixed use”, he said. “ I believe that this land does not qualify as commercially zoned, industrial zoned, or mixed use zone as it is used in the live local act, and based on that belief, I would not approve or move forward an application based on live local for this site.”
At a Townhall meeting held in New Tampa last year commissioner Hagan indicated that the county would consider purchasing the land if the price was favorable.
These recent events have sparked renewed hope among residents who wish to see the return of a golf course to the neighborhood.
We desperately need your help. We need funds to help us inform our neighbors just one mailer in an envelope sent to the entire neighborhood has cost around $1500. We’d also like to place an ad in the local newspaper and that will be around $500. Please help🙏

Working to keep Pebble Creek peaceful from construction noise and disorder by showing opposition to development that would eliminate the golf course, our abundant wildlife and the beautiful indigenous oaks and flora
